The book description seemed very promising, so did some of the better reviews. But after starting to read this, I'm wondering if those other reviewers read a different book then me?! I just could not get into this book to get beyond 25% of the way thru! I really wanted to quit at 15%. There was no prologue, real back-story, or lead in, to draw you into this. It just jumps in head first into things the reader has no clue about, leaving this reader floundering, trying to figure out what the heck was going on! The story jumped around so much it felt awkwardly written. I felt like the book is still in rough draft form, & needing a lot more fill in of the background info & maybe some re-arranging to get a flow. Each page left me confused & lost at where this was going. I just could not bring myself to care or to continue reading. Needless to say, I won't be reading the other books in this series. On the upside, I didn't see much in the way of typos or grammar issues in the 25% I did read..Product details

It felt like there were a lot of the over the top theatrics and the main girl was pretty helpless a lot, at one point she couldn't even run through a forest without getting hurt.
Personally I'm not a fan of damsels in need of rescuing which isn't 100% what she is but it felt like she was that at least 60% of the time. So if you do enjoy that I'd recommend this book but it's not my cup of tea.
Taurus is the first book in this ZODIAC DRAGON GUARDIAN SERIES. ..BY KIM FAULKS. It's a action packed story with her wonderful creations to bring it to life on the pages. I'm looking forward to the next addition to see what happens next. I'm recommending everybody pick up and get involved in this wonderfully enjoyable series.👏🔟💖💟
Abrial is faced with making decisions that will impact her life and the pack. What will she chose? What impact will Marcus have on her? Hmmm! She's extremely lucky if she's can hold onto him.

I downloaded Taurus as a free book from . I'm not sure why I put this one off for so long, as I loved the blurb (possibly because the cover doesn't appeal to me-- who knew I was so shallow). Faulks combined some interesting world-building with a unique story line to hold my interest as I read from cover to cover in one sitting. I would have enjoyed stronger character development but the plot was enough to carry the book.
Very hard to follow. For the first book in a series it needs more explanation of the characters and their back story. I will not bother with the rest of this series.
Kim Faulks’ stories make me read avidly. The twists, the darkness, the strange and wicked characters make my imagination running rampant. In this story we have ancient zodiac dragons, the Guardians, who were dying because had fallen into oblivion and a wolf shifter fighting for her sister and her people. Marcus, the eldest of the zodiac dragons, was the only one that could prevent their horrible fate and virtually forced by the old witch, he went after her vision, the bloodstone. Abrial mission was to save her sister and in making a pact with the evil ones her fate was sealed. She encountered the dragon-bull and new forces were playing. The story kept me interested all the time. Wanted to see how the author was working with so much characters at the same time. Scorpio was fascinating. The descriptions were very good and I wanted to make an image in my mind but I regret because later nightmares come. There were some frightening scenes, others disgusting but lot of emotional and tender scenes. Few sex with this two but it seemed wild. The action continues in the next book because looks like some secondary characters in this story are going to continue the battle for their lives so, we have to be alert because the little witch and Acuarius had much to do. Love this stories full of action, strong, sexy and violent characters that arouse the emotions.
This book has fantastic, epic moments throughout the novel. It is a fast paced read that is fraught with danger and violence at every turn. The few soft moments are more precious because of this fast pace, taking this reader on an emotional journey. I love books that elicit such heartfelt responses. So, if I enjoyed it so much, why only 4 stars? It's because of the way this book is written. This is written in first person, which is fine, but it is confusing and dizzying in its form. I often wondered who the main person was talking to, talking about, thinking about, who was he/she remembering, and so on. I don't like feeling like an author has left me adrift to try to piece together their words and somehow make sense of it. I know many love this style of writing (descriptive), calling it poetic. However, when what is happening is confusing and leaves the reader wondering what the author is trying to say, it loses its poetic nature. Please, explain who, what, when, where, why, and how in a clear, concise manner. I am going to try the second book, as I did, overall, enjoy this book and want to see what happens next. If I am left confused throughout most of the second book, I will not be purchasing a third. I believe a GOOD editor would have fixed this before it was published. I do think it is worth reading, and I do recommend it to any paranormal fan. Just go in with the understanding that some confusion lies ahead, but the story ultimately comes together and is worth the read.
